Do I have to attend Life Community to go on this trip?
No, anyone is welcome to join the trip. If you are with another church, please specify that on the registration form.

What is the age limit?
Anyone under 18 years old should be accommpanied by a parent or guardian.

Thursday March 12 – Heading North

Drive to Caesarea National Park, with archaeological ruins spanning over 2000 years including an impressive Roman theater and beautifully preserved aqueduct; tour park
Drive to Muhraka on Mt Carmel, traditional site where Elijah defeated the prophets of Ba’al
Afternoon           Lunch in Druze-style restaurant
Drive to Megiddo National Park, the site of "Armageddon" where the great battle between the sons of light and the sons of darkness is to take place according to the Book of Revelation
Drive to Sea of Galilee; check in to hotel

Friday March 13 – Nazareth & Around the Sea of Galilee
Morning               Breakfast at hotel
Drive to Nazareth. Beginning at Greek Orthodox Church of the Annunciation and Mary’s Well, walk through Old Nazareth to Church of the Annunciation
Return to Sea of Galilee
Visit Magdala Project, site of excavations of 1st Century Jewish fishing village where synagogue from the time of Jesus has been discovered
Afternoon           St Peter's fish lunch at restaurant on shore of Sea of Galilee       
Drive to Mt of Beatitudes, traditional site of the Sermon on the Mount
Continue to Capernaum, Jesus' base during his ministry in the north
                                Drive to Yardenit baptism site for optional baptismal ceremony

Drive north to Tel Dan National Park, where the springs there serve as a major source of the Jordan River, and site of Jeroboam’s altar
Continue to Banias, site of Caesarea Philippi
Afternoon           Lunch on own in area
Visit Mt Bental, overlooking site of decisive tank battle during 1973 Yom Kippur War; view into the Syrian city of Kuneitra, from a decommissioned army bunker
Boat ride on the Sea of Galilee; visit “Jesus Boat” Museum

Sunday March 15 – Beit She’an, Jericho & the Dead Sea

Drive to Beit She’an National Park, site of one of the most important cities in the region in antiquity
Continue south to Qasr el Yahud, traditional site where Jesus was baptized by John the Baptist
Drive to Ein Gedi National Park
Afternoon           Box lunch at Ein Gedi; short hike at site where David fled from Saul
                                Continue south to hotel on Dead Sea; check in
                                Enjoy facilities at hotel; swim/float at Dead Sea, the lowest place on earth

Monday March 16 – Masada, Ein Gedi & Qumran
Morning               Breakfast at the hotel; check out
Drive to Masada; ascend via Snake Path or cable car; tour Herod's fortress and site of the Zealots' last stand against the Romans in 73 A.D.; descend via cable car
                                Drive north to Ein Gedi, oasis in the desert, where David fled from Saul
Afternoon           Continue to Qumran, where Dead Sea scrolls were discovered
                                Lunch on own at restaurant at site; then, tour site
Drive up to Jerusalem; arrive at Mt Scopus; panoramic view of Jerusalem including historical overview of the city

Tuesday March 17 – Temple Mount, City of David and Mt Zion
Morning               Early breakfast
                                Drive to Old City; go up on Temple Mount and tour site
                                Visit the Kotel (the Western Wall)
Visit the Davidson Archaeological Park, with archaeological remains dating back from the First and Second Temple periods; see the Southern Temple Steps.
Visit City of David, where Jerusalem began 3,000 years ago
Opportunity to go on water hike in Hezekiah’s Tunnel, carved out of the rock 2700 years ago and see the Pool of Siloam where the blind man washed the mud off his eyes and received his sight from Jesus.
Afternoon           Lunch on own in Jewish Quarter
Walk along the Cardo, the north-south street first built by the Romans 1900 years ago   
Walk to traditional site of Room of the Last Supper on Mt Zion

Visit Pools of Bethesda and St Anne’s Church, a beautiful Crusader church famous for its acoustics
W along Via Dolorosa to Christian Quarter
Afternoon           Lunch on own in Christian Quarter of Old City
Visit Church of the Holy Sepulcher
Continue to Garden Tomb for tour and communion

Visit the Yad Vashem Holocaust Museum and Memorial

Visit the Israel Museum to see the famous Second Temple model of the city of Jerusalem and the Shrine of the Book, telling the story of the Dead Sea scrolls found in Qumran
                                Return to Old City for free time to explore and shop on own
