Water baptism began with John the Baptist on the shores of Galilee where he baptized Jesus in water.

After Jesus died on the cross and rose from the dead, He showed Himself around Jerusalem for 40 days. In the last conversation Jesus had before leaving the Earth, He told the disciples to go into all the world and tell the good news. He told them to tell everyone that Jesus is King, and to baptize people in the name of The Father, The Son, and The Holy Spirit.

Ten days after this happened, Peter was preaching and told people to turn around, to quit going the direction they were going, and to get baptized. That day they baptized over 1,000 people.

The disciples acted in obedience to Jesus when they were baptizing people, and The Apostle Paul later explained so well to us what baptism is all about. When we get temporarily buried in water, we are able to identify with Jesus when He was buried. And when we come out of the water, we have died to our old life and now get a new one.

Baptism is the first thing that Jesus told us to do after we come into our faith and we would love to help you take that step in the journey of your faith. If you are ready to schedule your baptism, email jaime@lifecommunityaz.com today!
